"This is definitely one of the best 'first-time' events I've ever worked. The course is one of the most scenic is South Carolina, there's no doubt...and it's fast!"

This second annual event is a running festival for all ages. The certified course is fast, flat and spectator friendly. It traverses the coastal village of Habersham, starting and finishing in the town center. The course runs through the neighborhood, along the marsh and beneath the huge live-oak stands. Our first race in 2009 was quite successful, with over 700 runners and walkers, and nearly 900 total event participants. We know that 2010 will be even better, with more prizes and fun activities for the whole family. The race benefits the new Riverview Charter School in Beaufort. Officially opened in August of 2009, Riverview Charter School is a FREE, public school authorized by the Beaufort County School District and open to all Beaufort County students. Last year, we raised over $10,000 for Riverview, and we hope to double that this year. 100% of the proceeds will go towards providing the teachers and students the tools they need to excel in the classroom. The run is followed by a post race party for all participants and then an oyster roast, open to everyone. Our goal is to make this a fun, competitive and memorable annual event for Beaufort. |
